More rain today. It began last night and was still coming down when we checked out of the hostal at 12pm. We have a 6am flight tomorrow and being an international we have to be at the airport around 4.30am. As a result we have a hotel in the suburb beside the airport with a shuttle booked for 4am.
We caught the metro to Barajas and are now in the hotel. We went for a bit of a wander earlier but being a public holiday here nothing is open and is very quiet. We have been watching MTV which is mostly in English so that has filled in the afternoon. We will head down for the buffet dinner at 8pm before an early night.
We have loved our time in Spain. Barcelona is beautiful even if a bit sketchy in some places. Ibiza is s*** but that is probably more our fault. And Madrid has been amazing. It is a place we could really live in as people are just so friendly and accommodating and the city is beautiful. We would have loved more time here but we can always come back, maybe even live for a little while.
Tomorrow is Malta and 20 deg weather. We have an apartment so there will probably be quite a bit of cooking. Hopefully we can get some nice fresh food with plenty of veggies. I know Jac can't wait to get cracking in the kitchen.
On a side note Spain must be spending a fortune on translators. Nearly every show on tv is American and it's pretty weird seeing everything dubbed. Same with movies at the cinemas. The music is also mostly from the US although obviously still in it's original version. Goes to show how much influence they really do have on culture in the world
