We were sad to leave our favourite hostel so far. But we put our packs on and trudged the 30 mins down to the train station. Our packs are pretty heavy at the moment and we are sick of carrying the weight so after the camper quite a bit is going to be discarded. Anyway we arrived at the train station and grabbed tickets to Torremoulina where we were going to picked up our wicked camper. We were early so we sat on the beach looking out over the beautiful blue Mediterranean, even managing to get our feet wet. That's another ocean that we have now touched. At 12pm our contact turned up and we took possession of our camper. Pretty basic but it has everything that we could need. It has been christened the porn mobile on account of the big breasted lady on the side with very perky nipples. It attracts quite a few glances and people pointing, although I had to park outside a burger king today for 10 minutes and I felt bad about the kids sitting inside. Think we may have to cover her nips up tomorrow. Anyway off we went down the coast road and drove for a couple of hours to Gibraltar to see the famous rock and the straight. The drive was like being on the gold coast and is very much catered to all the tourists. We arrived and managed to see the iconic rock as well as all the ships lined up to pass through the straight. It was an amazing site to behold. Jac wanted to see if we could catch a ferry over to Tangier but it was too expensive and just a bit hard logistically. The traffic was crazy so we got the hell out of gibraltar and headed down south to Tarifa for some free beach camping we had heard about. Unfortunately the rain came and we couldn't find the beaches. Either that or as with most countries the government has put up no camping signs anywhere. We eventually gave up and as we didn't want to pay for camping the first night headed inland towards Ronda. We drove for nearly 2 hours under the impression we would find heaps of places to park up. But as the terrain got more mountainous and the roads basically were abandoned we knew we were in for a tough time. At about 8pm came our salvation in the form of a lay away on a bend. So we pulled in to make our camp as the light all but disappeared. We were on the side of mountain and knew the views would be pretty amazing in the morning. So we fired up the single burner and cooked pasta together with salad, all done by torch light. We then made our beds and settled in for the night. Our first not quite as we imagined, but it turned out ok.
