We have had a lovely last week (nearly) in the US of A. It has been very nice to have some relaxing time spent with Mary, Adrian, Miranda and Jude.
On Tuesday, we spent the day at home organising ourselves after our road trip. On Wednesday Mary had the afternoon off and we enjoyed a very nice lunch in Santa Monica and spent some time wandering around the shops.
On Thursday Mary and Nadia had a lovely pampering day getting their nails done. They relaxed and watched some very "LA type" ladies coming and going! They had really nice coffee afterwards before heading home to keep Damien company again.
Friday was Miranda's end of kindergarten celebration (their version of our prep) it was very sweet and fun to watch her playing with her friends. We then came home and started to get ready to go out for a really nice dinner. Mary and Adrian got a babysitter and the grown ups went to the Bazaar in Beverly Hills. This is apparently one of the top two or three restaurants in LA, an it really deserves the title. The food was some of the best we had ever eaten, and an experience we will not forget for a very long time. Even down to the "desert room" that you are taken to once you have finished the amazing main meal!
Today we spent the morning packing our cases. The new suitcase we bought is definitely required but everything fits OK. We have spent a very pleasant afternoon playing in the backyard with the kids before we have an early dinner and we head to the airport.
It's been an amazing trip. We have been able to spend some really lovely time with Mary and her family, and we have seen and done some really special things in other parts of the US and Canada. It's sad for the holiday to be over, but it will be nice to go home to family, friends, Nadia's coffee machine, and George and Buster as well.
