We planned to have a reasonably early start today but we had a camping style sleep in and got up around 7.30am. After packing up we took the short trip to Chilualna Falls. At the start of the trailhead, Damien was excited to see a warning sign about very recent sitings of a mountain lion, Nadia was somewhat less excited. We walked the short distance to the first cascades, which looked like a larger version of a backyard water feature - the water fell so perfectly over the rocks. It was a very peaceful trail and we walked on a short distance before returning to the car without seeing any sign of a mountain lion.
We then left the park and started heading back to Los Angeles. We stopped for Brunch at a town not far from the park exit and then settled in for the drive back. The drive was pretty uneventful and the miles seemed to rush past and we arrived "home" in the afternoon. It was great to see Mary, Adrian and the kids again and we are looking forward to spending the week with them.
