There are sooo many good pictures of today but I decided to use this one. Today we saw the Pantheon in the morning and it was really interesting listening to the history of the Pantheon on mums iPhone. Then after that we went back to the Piazza Navona and Thomas got a portrait of himself. After that we went home for a rest before we headed out to the Basilica. Luckily the line wasn't long and we made it through security. As we entered I was amazed at the art and the beauty of it. We saw the statue by Michael Angelo called the Pieta. We took lots of pictures because it was so amazing. There was a staircase leading down to the place where it is said that the actual Saint Peter is buried. I couldn't believe that I was so close to so many Popes' even if they were dead. As we got to the front I was stunned at the beauty of it. It was beyond words for me!
Then when we had finished looking Alicia and I went to go pray.
We soon left with me catching the last fee glances back at the building and went to send some postcards from the Vatican post office.
We found a restaurant to have dinner in before we went to have our portraits done. We caught the bus to the Piazza Navona and Alicia and I went to look for some people who did portraits for a not too expensive price. We weren't successful but we found a lady who would do a special price for us in caricatures. We got it done and were very happy. Later dad got us a gelato for a treat. It was a very nice evening.
