Buongiorno
It was a very fast drive in the car to Rome. Dad said cars were allowed to travel very fast on the freeways (130kms or more).
A lot faster then Sydney.
Our Rome apartment was near the Catholic Pope's home ( The Vatican ). We saw Swiss guards, guarding the entrance.
Next to the Vatican was (St Peters). We saw lots of paintings and a very big painting on the ceiling that was painted by a famous Italian artist that died long long time ago (Michelangelo).
We saw men dressed up in old Roman soldiers clothes (gladiators) at a big broken and old round building (the Colloseum).
Later Mum, Alicia and Tahlia wanted to go to a fountain (Trevi Fountain), to throw a coin in so that they would come back again to Rome. There were also lots of people doing the same thing. We later had more yummy gelato.
I really had lots of fun in Rome, Florence and the Italian country side.
I will come back again because they have lots of cool cars (Ferraris, Masserati, Lambourgini) and gelato.
Arrivederci
Thomas
