Hi! It's Tahlia here.
Today was BOILING hot! Really too hot to do much. We only left about 10:30-11. We caught the metro to the Louvre. It was closed anyway on a Tuesday so we just had a walk around it and got sprinkled by the fountain. After sitting in the shade for a bit, we walked across to a bridge (Pont Neuf), which was covered in locks. The locks were love locks. So you write your name on a lock and the person you love. Then you would chuck the key into the water beneath which is the Seine. We found all sorts of cool locks and even some had Thomas' name on them! We also went to check out the souvenir shops and Alicia and I got a Paris shirt and some key rings and Thomas got a keyring and snow globe.
As soon as we had bought the souvenirs, it started to rain. We then went under cover. Of course once it stopped, it dried up quickly because of the sun and humidity. We walked over to the Notre Dame and went inside, it was pretty amazing. All our legs were tired and our feet were hurting (as usual) :)
We caught the metro back to the apartment and had a little rest and had some dinner bought from the supermarket.
After dinner, Dad suggested we go and see the Arc de Triomphe. It was a beautiful night and we were having a nice walk when it started raining. We sheltered under cover for a bit, while it was quite heavy but then it calmed down a bit and we could keep going. Surprisingly there were people on top of the Arc de Triomphe, when it was raining. Anyway, we didn't stay long and we were all quite tired so we went home and had a good night's rest...
Hope that everyone that went to Canberra enjoyed it!! Can't wait to hear about it!
