Our day started lazing in bed catching up on facebook etc, only to have Ted and Jean doing a lap of the bus yelling for us to ‘Get out of Bed’. We were up and going by 8.30am. The scenery certainly was changing, to flat plains, with either no trees or very low shrubs. Down the road we passed Jean and Ted, gave them a toot. We touched base and caught up at the Pardoo
Roadhouse, it was abit like the hare and tortousie. From Pardoo Roadhouse we travelled together down to DeGrays Rest Area, 50km north of Port Hedland, and camped together on
the south side of DeGrays River away from the rest of the campers. After setting up we went for a walk down to the river, only to come across Jean and Ted walking the railway track. So off we all went across the disused railway bridge to the north side and wandered through the campsites. After the walk we shared happy hour together and chatted around the campfire after dinner. For dinner we pulled out the camp oven for the first time and cooked up a delicious Beef and Red Wine casserole. So nice that we thought we must cook on the camp oven more often. Hence a bottle of red was opened for the meal, so the bottle had to be finished with dinner.
