Goodbye to Northern Territory
We have just spent 6 weeks in NT, fantastic place to travel through as we have free camped nearly all the way through.
It's a place were on the road nearly every other traveller greets you with a wave as you are travelling towards each other. There are many varieties of the wave, they came at you with either a single or double finger salute, a quick flip of the four or five fingers and then there is the vigorous hand wave. When you see this wave, you laugh and wonder if at the end of their travels they have RSI in their wrist.
Loved the scenery, the waterfalls and plunge pools, where you could swim to cool off in the heat of the day. The weather during our trip through NT was constant, average 31 degrees through the day with overnight lows of about 18 degrees. We have mainly been in shorts and singlet’s the whole trip through NT.

Cuppa If you go up to Wyndham - can’t recall if you can take the bus out to Marlgu Billabong, just outside of town. We stayed at the CP in Wyndham, one of the very few CP’s we enjoyed - camped out under the trees - Brolgas walked through our camp! Went to Marlgu billbong on the bikes a few kms south of the town. Others were there in 2wd cars so I reckon the bus would be ok, but ask first. Was like a David Attenborough movie, so much wildlife & crocs just inches under your feet (steel mesh floor).
