Ok so I ask the lady at the servo what is there to do in Karumba outside fishing? You could go pig hunting! hmm neither of those doing anything for me. how about we:
- Go for a drive around town (Karumba and Karumba point) - 1 hr max incl walk along beach (with no waves),
- have lunch at famous fish and chip shop - 45 mins),
- go shopping - 20 mins),
- watch fisherman at boat ramp (this was the busiest place we have seen since Cairns - there were 4wds with boats moving non-stop - 10 mins).
This barely got us to after lunch so I played golf whilst dad read a book (and I suspect had an afternoon nap). My golf was ok until the course caretaker mentioned there were crocs near the course (I didn't see any but a few flying brolgas (atleast I think they were and either way they looked impressive)). First time on sand greens which was interesting. Also found the local grass hockey field which also doubled at the fairway for the first hole of the golf club! Actually hit the ball ok which is sort of annoying as wasn't part of the golf challenge! Was only here for 2 nights which was really one day as we arrived quite late after the rodeo but this was more than enough time for us. Big driving day tomorrow to get to Lawn Hill NP via Burke & Wills roadhouse. Btw for those keeping score at home here is a breakdown of accommodation used to date. Tent 59% Yacht 3% House (friends of dads) 14% Motel/Hotel/Pub 22% We are now over 9 weeks into the trip and have now less than 6 weeks before we get back home. Doesn't really feel like the homeward stretch especially as we are still heading west.

Graeme Was really looking forward to seeing pictures of you gutting a feral pig that you shot, maybe next time.
