Did you know Croydon in some languages means 'land of rusted mining equipment'. Back to the past doesn't have the same ring - but we are back in Mount Surprise - this time by road. We've continued our western run - with 2 nights here at Mount Surprise at what is probably the best caravan park (this excludes national parks) we have stayed at. A large site but plenty of trees means you are not on top of each other. An impressive (and large) camp fire, pizza oven and shared rec area has helped bump it to the top of the list. They say Atheron means 'land of many tables' which seems to me to be a rather healthy oversupply supply of tables in the 'Atherton Tablelands' region. A quick survey of of the area indicated no more tables than one would expect in a rural and regional area.
