Hey all,

Today we went to Chepstow Castle and Tintern Abby. This trip was amazing. It was so pretty in both places. Chepstow Castle is located on the river Wye, which divides England from Wales. We had a guide that was dressed up as a monk from the time period. He said he usually dresses like a knight or something similar at Chepstow but since he was also going to be our guide at Tintern he thought it would be more appropriate to be a monk. He was very knowledgable. He gave really good tours at both places.

Tintern Abby was my favorite. It is a big abby. The leaves were changing in the hills surrounding it, making it an even prettier site. We were walking around the outside and then our guide took us inside and it was so beautiful. After our tour we finished walking around the abby and I kept going back to the middle where there was this giant window that framed the hill filled with trees behind it. I think I went back to it about 4 times...pretty sure I drove Craig crazy! I didn't want to leave. I could have just sat there on a blanket all day:)

It was a wonderful trip that we almost didn't take. We are both really glad we went. Both the towns of Chepstow and Tintern were pretty too. They had a lot of little shops that were neat to go into. I wish we would have had more time in the towns to explore.
