Arrived into Perth and quickly picked up the hired car which was an automatic which gave me some comfort as I knew I had to concentrate on the only two road signs they have in Australia "Stop & Go" I quickly acclimatised to their systems but overall it was very pleasant as nobody broke the speed limits or rarely ever overtook each other, which was very unnerving for a city slicker such as me, as I suspected a police car to be lurking behind a tree.
Arriving at the flat which was not quite ready gave us a chance to look around the complex which was occupied by a million yachts and a giant board walk with a multitude of shops and restaurants which later we discovered were very good.
The flat we were given was brilliant as it had two separate bedrooms with a large front room and fully fitted kitchen and more importantly had a washing machine which we used with enthusiasm (well Clare did with me offering technical assistance )
Later that night we drove into central Perth (which was very modern and akin to docklands in some quarters ) we found a Waggon Mammas which we spotted and quickly parked the car to enjoy.
