Waegwan....one week later!
So I've been here a week already and can't believe time has gone so fast....have been so busy since I got here. Firstly with rearranging the flat and then visiting Becky up in Gumi and having my first Korean night out! Some of the pictures are on here. We went to a foreigners bar called the Waegook Cook, which means foreigner food. It was their Oktoberfest party so the staff were all dressed up in German outfits and played German music, not quite what I expected! Later on a band played, they'd only been together for 4 days but were really good and got us all singing and dancing. Lots of fun and stayed up till the early hours. The next day we chilled at Becky's and then went to a steak house for dinner....I know not very Korean, but really yummy!!
Officially started work on Monday. I think that because I had met the children on Friday it was a bit easier as they had got to know my teaching style and of course the rules! To be honest behaviour isn't that much of an issue. We have a points system in class so the kids that work well can get stickers if they behave and work well, whereas the naughty ones get three chances before they are kicked out. So far only got to -2, it's usually the little boys that are a pain, so pretty much the same as at home!! I am enjoying it though.
Waegwan is a small town, no bigger than Stubbington, but it has everything we need close by. The bus and train station is 15 minutes walk away and the main centre is just up the road. Lots of shops are open late or 24/7. There is a gym and a swimming pool round the corner and school is only 10 minutes walk away. Haven't been able to explore too much yet but when I do I will take Charlie's camera so you can see what it is like here.
Not got much more to say right now so I will sign off.
Take care and keep in touch.
Love Gaelle x
