Cape Tribulation was awesome! Well apart from the torential rain that started late Wednesday night and didn't stop until mid morning Thursday - I suppose it is called a Rain Forrest for a reason. On the way up we went Crocodile hunting on the Daintree River, saw a few very large Crocs and thanked god that they didn't come and attact the boat. Really didn't fancy taking part in the famous death roll!
I was supposed to be going out to the Great Barrier Reef on Thursday but it was cancelled due to high winds. Was booked to do it on Friday and go horse riding Thursday pm instead. The ride was excellent, managed to canter a few times which I am usually quite nervous about but on a western saddle it is much easier as you can hold onto the pommel between your legs - ooo err! Had a bit of a trot on the beach as well.
Friday went out on the Rum Runner to the GBR. Was going to do an intro dive but unfortunately as I had asthma when I was a kid I wasn't allowed. The Queensland Government are very strict apparently - next time I will be neglecting to give out that information as I don't even remember the last time I had an attack. Anyway had a fun time snokelling although the current was pretty strong. Saw some beautiful fish, turtles and sting rays as well as the reef. Unfortunately due to pollution it is not as colourful as you think it would be from pictures taken, but it is still quite spectactular.
I took a night bus from Cairns to Airlie Beach last night and am off sailing round the Whitsundays tomorrow :) 3 days and 2 nights on the Anaconda 2, so excited! Will write more when I get back....
