SOOOOOOO, we FINALLLY got out of Noosa!!! WOOO HOOO!!! though we had to get seperate buses else we wouldbve missed our fraser island trip!! so yeah, we arrived and had some chill out time in the dry before our surf lesson the next morning. It being just our second time by this point ever being on a surf board, I was pretty impressed with myself that I managed to stand up first time! (I well impressed the instructor I know!!!haha) Vic was able to stand too though after the first times, we both kept falling off anyhoo, we managed to last a couple of hours before we decided that actually soaking up the rays on the ebach would be a lot more beneficial. tehe
the 9th was time to leave for Fraser island. We had a group of 8 of us in 1 4x4 and 8 4x4's!!! We got a really nice bunch of irish peeps and then some toff's from Dorset and stuff.... So yeah First stop on the island was Lake McKenzie, absolutely stunning!!! like a little fairy tale! could actually have stayed there for hours though we only had a few before having to hti camp and set up our tent!
Where we stayed consited of bushes, tents and dingos.... NO TOILETS!!!!! urgh! a shovel and a bite on the bum from the dingos was as much fun as that got hahahahaha So yeh cooking on the old camp fire and sitting eating it in the moonlight was certainly a memorable experience! A bit of goon later and it was time for our first nights sleep on a rock hard floor!
Next morning we wake to find that Dingo's have been circling our tent in the night. I of course slept through it all! So we then decided to have dingo watch!!!
Breakfast and a short drive later we reached a creek for a good swim and wash.... yup we all hummed!!! Another beautiful part of the island though and very much enjoyed it! Almost ran in to a dingo as I wasnt lookign where I was going (apparently they can be a little scary... certainly made me poop myself!!!)
We then drove on to have some lunch and visit the champagne pools. Almost like the swimming pool on perranporth beach but a little more sun!
On the way back to camp, stopped off at the most photographed shipwreck and it was pretty amazing! I will upload photos shortly!1 (see mum, its not just about the drink!!! )
So tonight it was time to chill..... the party!!! apparently the tour guides were inetrested in havign some drinks tonight and we all stayed up until about 4am with the dingo's drinking goon (for those who dont know its crap wine in a box!) and attempting to do hand stands... to which affect, I now realise I am incapable of doing!!! I blame the headache the next mornign TOTALLY on landing on my head and not my hands!! haha
So yea the final day was hangover day with a 45 min walk to another lake. that due to the weather, is quickly disappearing and we were told that it will soon have gone. So feel quite privelaged to have seen it!! 45 min walk back to the vans and it was time to visit Indian head. Not reeally sure why this was so amazing but i guess you could see a lot of the island fronm the top!
then the little ferry took us back to mainland... one of the best trips so far that we have done!!! and now it is time to get the overnight bus to Rockhampton for our time on the ranch.....
