well hey there people!!!! soo the first day we arrived we pretty much slept.... for 18hours solid!!! almost as long as the 24hour flight!!!! had already met some peeps who were doing pretty much the same route as us on the plane!!
First day we attempted to get in hammocks... though this didnt quite work so a 45 min walk to the town was chosen instead! And then we get caught in the horrific thunder storms before trying to head back!!! the taxi's round here... well lets just say no seat belts and pot holes dont always mix too well!! The Thai restaurant provided what we thought was a type of mango chuntey... actually tuirned out to be the spiciest mango skins in the world that blew my head off!!!
Before island hopping we decided another day of chillaxing was much needed... its hard work doing nothing you know!!!
So then we decided that island hoppping was teh way foreward..... what we thought would be a 45min boat ride... actually turned out to be a 5hour boat ride!!!! thnak god the sun was shining!!! 1We finally arrived at Coral View.... absouletly beautiful and one the most north islands of fiji!! we enjoyed 3 days here and snorkelled in the reeff. We also hoped to visit some underwater caves though the heavens decided to open and apparently doing this in torrential rain is nto so fun! sad times! but the people we met here certainly made up for the rain!!! Fijian l;ocals are ablsoltuely brilliant and so freindly here!!!
Next after 3 days here and not really wanting to leave, a hideous boat ride for 3 hours to the next island. yes ALOT of ill people..... So arrive at Waia Lailala (somthing like this anyway!!) not so pretty or friendly and we soon realised w e had been spoilt at Coral view!! Mary.... who seemed to lilke to be in charge, shouted at us alot to 'eat more food' which we most certainly did!
Kayaking was a must here despite the currents and sea being pretty rough! and yes I am the only one who fell in and nearly drowned... much to Vics enjoyment!! The folliwng day we went snorkelling again and swam with sharks... a pretty crazy experience but amazing all the same!!
Onwards then to Beachcomber... also known as party island and after meeting around 10opthers on waia wailala and coral who wrere also going... it was a messy night to say the least with some crazy dance moves and plenty of drinks flowing!!
Sea spray was our final island day aka a booze cruise but after being a little too hungover.... it was just soft drinks for us! sad times!! but we enjoyed a trip to Castaway (where the film was made) and a trip to the local village for Kava (local drink which tatstes like muddy water!)
We finally arrived back on mainland after 12 boat changes that day!! and now we are preparing for our NZ adventures.......
Watch this space!!!!!!!!!!!!!
