enjoying reading yr blogs and updates. Glad Jon and Meryl are getting about and would love to see some action shots on the bikes!
Have been to Bluewater twice this week, good bus service - only takes 20 mins- easier to get to than Hempstead- and no worries about parking. + they have a mobility centre there, so I get to whiz round and can stay for ages without too much pain. Ate at Loch Fyne restaurant Tues, can recommend it next time you are up there- delish fish.
And O.M.G. the shoes in MnS!!!!! gorgeous.
Getting all goldeny on the trees now - pretty.
Jeanette and Holly came yesterday and picked the rest of my apples, so one more chutney cook off to go, must get some more vinegar, etc and red chillies this time (the last batch I used green and it didn't have enough of a kick for me) Jeanette will be making a batch too because after they all tasted the jar I took over they were addicted. Mum's recipe, from the cookery book that came with her first cooker, so older than me.
Oh I am so waffling on again.
talk later, take care x

Hi Jennifer
Hope the water has settled and no further rainstorms. Quick message as it is late and need to sleep.
Jack was short listed for a contract position in maternity from 40 applicants was interviewed last thursday and heard today that he had got the job. He is chuffed as it will fit in with his plans for next october as this job is a 12 month fixed term contract, best news is that it is on a higher band and he will get paid holidays.
The trust is working to the next level of CNST which is the clinical negligence scheme for trusts (insurance) which will look good on his CV as it is all to do with policies and guidelines to reduce litigation and claims.
When Richard and Kerry marry that will give 5 Lathams working in 2 depts within the trust.
Have got a fitting arranged for saturday for my wedding outfit, hopefully it will be ok the biggest problem will be getting the accessories to match.
Weather now turning cold in the mornings had to scrap the ice off the car monday morning, days are warm, no rain for at least 10days. Trees have all changed colour and leaves starting to fall, will be altering the clocks in 2 weeks so the nights will be drawing in.
Bye for now, take care Janet

Have just managed to find time to catch up with your blog and photos. The floods look horrid and yet everyone seems to be smiling. I'm glad Jon and Meryl have had a good time and were able to seee something of your life there. How will you get to work if the rain continues? Will anyone else get there?
The good weather here is turning colder slowly but no more rain as yet. Leaves are golden and falling and a bumper crop of chestnuts are easily gathered, although the conkers are much smaller than the ones I remember. Bella is well but sleeping more soundly and I can often get inside before she hears me. An article todaay expounds the theory that dogs have personalities just like pople- some breeds are naturally boyant while others are prone to depression. Labradors come into the latter group!
Take care

Hello Jenny
have just enjoyed reading latest blog, interesting as always. Hope the heavy rain won't cause too much trouble or spoil the celebrations.
Everything here very much the same, a slight nip in the air today, bright but feels damp. Hope your friend got away safely after her incident. I am sure you enjoyed your time with Meryl and Jon, although you have new friends its always nice to see a familiar face.
Take care, stay safe love Doreen xx

Hi Jennifer, hope you are well.
Latest entry sounds very interesting hope Jon and Meryl have enjoyed the visit to Cambodia.
Shropshire has experienced a beautiful weekend, weather wise, warm, temp. high 60's, that would be very cool for you but compared to the rain last weekend it has been great,.
Spent the day yesterday with Meriel at Pontesbury Woodcarving AGM and then had lecture in Marquetry, spent the rest of the day trying to perfect the art, harder than you think, managed to come home with a coaster spent today sanding and varnishing it.
Afternoon in garden planting Primroses and pruning bushes as the autumn has come and all the leaves are falling.
Richard and Kerry came over this afternoon to finalise some more of the wedding plans, all going according to plan at the moment.
Jack feeling sorry for himself, I say he has a cold he thinks its more like man flu, unsure whether he should go to work tomorrow, he still managed to have 2 university friends over 4 the weekend.
New bike great went for 18km ride with David, managed to pick up route 81, which goes from Quarry to Wellington via Upton Magna got as far as Uffington then carried on to Atcham and back down the old A5, loads of bikers out as the weather good for cycling.
Nothing much planned for this week, work load very busy at present, got tickets next weekend to see Chess at the Grand in Wolverhampton, hoping the wedding shop will ring for me to go to try outfit on as now only 6+ weeks and starting to panic.
Time now to retire.
Take care

Hi Jenny,
just caught up with your recent blogs. Fantastic reads- you'll have to write a book when you get back! Sorry to hear about Lindy and I know you know how she felt (apart from the bruising)-just make sure you take your own advice. OK nag over.
Went to see Jeanette today, mainly because I have spent so much time doing a Shirley Valentine that I thought it was about time I saw what was outside my four walls. It was good to see her, it's been a while. On the way home I only looked at the minute hand for the bus times and soon realised that the hour hand put me right on school chucking out time. Oh joy. Lo and behold some ex Barnsolers took the bus (Rainham Mark is just round the corner from Jeanette which I hadn't known but soon found out today!) So it was good to see them so well turned out, we said hi and I told them about you- they were very impressed!
Glad to say the sun came out with me you know how I hate the grim grey days. Family down under are mentioning that the sun is out again down there now so as my passport has just expired I sent off for a renewal today. Can hardly escape the winter without it. No plans made yet but the old passport had so many stamps and visas in it that I felt the need to get the new one off to a good start.
Jon and Meryl will be there by now, best wishes and hope they have a great stay.
Look after yourself
Jon And Meryl
We are both very sorry to hear about the problems but hope all has settled down a little. Hope Lindy can enjoy the last few days and remember the good times!
We are just about acclimatising to Bangkok so hopefully will be ready for the full mcCoy in Siem Reap tomorrow!

Hi Jenny
Sorry I didn't get to chat on Sunday> Debs and Andy came for dinner and time flew by. Read blogg today and really pleased that you and your friend are ok. A sad way for her to end her stay, but a good reminder to take extra care. Had email from Meryl in Bangkok and she says there is humid too. The children in tour pictures did seem to have a good time. Could you imagine the uproar if we sent our kids off like that, mind they would probably like it. This week is book week and on Friday we are suppose to dress up. Groan, groan haven't decided yet what to be.I quite liked the idea of 'Flat Stanley', but alas my mirror told me it was not possible. All ideas welcome. Enjoy yourself but do take care. It doesn't matter where you are in the world, there's usaually someone waiting to take advantage, so no more after dark walks. Nag over and I'm off to think about a costume. Winnie the Witch !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi. Sounds like you have had a lot of excitement in one way or another. Life in sleepy shropshire is very dull in comparison.
Weather is similar , I think we have just experienced a monsoon today persistant heavy storms causing a lot of flooding 3" in places.
Dad has been around tonight looking well, said he had spoken to you earlier,he has seen all your latest photos and read your blog. IHe has been busy in the garden putting in his bedding plants and narrowing the borders. Its flu jab time again so have all got appointments booked ready for the needle, presumably its only 1 this year nobody has mentioned swine flu.
Jack has settled back into the work ethic after his holidays, he has an interview on thursday, the job he has been doing on the bank has been given a 1 year fixed term contract about 40 applied for it, so will have to wait and see, I think he stands a good chance as already doing the job and is trained in all the computer systems, has to do a 15 minute typing test first, that should be no problem.
I am on call now for 7 nights so hoping for quiet ones, highly unlikely as september /october is always busy as 9 months following christmas and the new year.So far so good.
Have enjoyed watching the Ryder Cup not yet finished as Celtic Manor has also experienced these awful storms so for the first time in ages has to go to a 4th day, Europe at this minute winning 9.5 to 6 need to get to 14.5 to win.
Wedding plans seem to be going ok, still not got my outfit but not panicking yet, one shop is getting me a outfit in that I have seen on the internet1 but it could be several weeks before it arrives think it is coming from Italy. Hope I like it after all.
Meriel and Malcolm have got your details so you may get a message sometime.
Well it is nearly monday again and start of a new week. Take care and a good idea to get a tuktuk instead of risking it.Hope your friend is ok after the nasty experience
Jan
Jon
Battery has arrived and will go into case easily!
See you next Wednesday

In my head I have a wonderful picture of your legs going like the clappers to beat the weather. I laughed so loud steve came out the kitchen ,so I had to read it to him. Mind you I watched 'The Land Of the Tiger' the other night and if your lightning was anything like that, I'm not surprised you went quick sharp. Apart from the bike wheels the silk farm looked similar to an old mill we visited last year in the Peak District with the looms and bobbings, amazing. I love the picture of your friend, he looks so pathetic, but is this a ploy! and really his like 'Six Dinner Sid' who goes around to different houses to get a dinner. I look forward to seeing more pictures of him. have a great trip riding on the back of the lorry with the kids, at least you won't have to make them run to catch a train. Be safe and hopefully talk on Sunday xxxx
Doreen
Hello,
such adventures, I am enjoying reading about them all. You will be able to write a book when you come home. The silk farm sounds wonderful and I am sure your school trip will put all ours into proportion.
Glad the weather has been cooler, making life a little easier for you.
