It was only a 4 hr bus ride to Hoi An..we were very excited about seeing Ang and Rich again.. We were with them throughout our Kiwi Bus tour and hadn't seen them since the end of February!
As soon as we arrived we found our rooms and then went on a tailor tour with Dara, showing us all of the tailors that she recommends. that was going to be our main activity here in Hoi An! After we looked around we went to The Tam Tam cafe to meet Ang and Rich.. It was so good to see them again...even better than we had expected! nearly 3 weeks into our trip we definately needed some fresh faces! Spent a while catching up on eachothers travels and laughing about memories in NZ we went to find the fresh beer bar for our first taste! Pleasently surprised it just tasted like light beer! but as it costs 4,000Dong ( 10p) they were going down quite nicely.
Heading for a busier bar we found where all of the backpackers were...whilst drinking in there a guy offered to take us to a beach bar for free.. So around 8 of us were in this bus on the way to the beach (which seems ages away) and got dropped off as promised at a beach bar. Hmmmm, there were about 5 other people in there and the drinks prices were crazy high! jumped straight on the next shuttle back to town and put it down as a lesson learnt!
The following day we went to order our tailoring. Lisa had some uniforms made for her new Maternity Nurse venture and we both ordered dresses (we know - odd but we couldnt resist) ..We both also got some trousers made. Ang and Rich met us for a late breakfast and we took them back to our hotel for a swim in the pool before those two had to catch the overnight bus to Ho Chi Minh City. We shall be seeing them again in 2 days so there were no sad goodbyes.
So the rest of our time in Hoi An was spent being fitted for clothes and relaxing.. not a bad life really eh?? We are more than happy with all of our tailored clothes and Lisa ended up getting her uniform in 3 different colours!
We boarded a flight to Saigon (Ho CHi Minh City) on 20th June ready to face another city...
