Wow, so today started pretty early, 6am as we were off to the Angkor Wat temple, which with the amount of tourists that were there, it's a good job we did set out early... We got there and we had some great opportunities to take photos but come 10 and the place was swarming. It only took 20 mins to get from the hotel so we got there early and the sites were amazing,. I thought we had seen enough temples but we got to this one and it was brilliant, sooo much history and age, some ruins, and trees growing through and around the broken temples. Made for some incredible photography... We went to the same temples as where they filmed the Hollywood movie Tomb Raider, as they kept mentioning, seems to be a selling point now. But I did recognise a few scenes from the film. We spent the morning walking through some of the smaller temples then headed for lunch at a restaurant within the temple grounds. Both me and Emma just had a soup as it was rather warm so opted for something light, which turned out to be a good choice as later on it did get hotter and very hard work... We head for the main highlight of the temple, the Kings Temple, which did take some climbing and sweating but I think was worth it for some of the views. We finished at the temples around 2 and headed back to the hotel... It's been around 33 degrees so I had one thing on my mind,.. Pool, or just water,.... Turns out the hotel has a roof top jacuzzi, so I headed straight there and jumped in. The hotel bar man soon came over and asked whether I would like a drink, how better else to relax than with an ice cold local beer,. Emma joined and we watch the sun slowly setting, not fully but whilst it was still hot, a few of the others on the tour, Michael and Russ joined us too, both good laughs. We all enjoyed an hour of sun, beer and bumbles,... Pure relaxation!.... Especially after the walking today in the extreme heat, well, it is for us Brits!,...... Once fully relaxed we headed for the room for another hour of chilling before we get ready to head out for our New Year's Eve celebrations, there has been a few plans thrown around but you will have to wait until tomorrow to find out... I do really hope you all had a great 2011 and know I definitely have... And I hope you also have a great New Years Eve evening and an epic 2012 ....
Massive love and peace.....
