Hi everyone! So we have landed in Krabi now and have been here for four days. The last time we updated our blog we were on our way to the Half Moon Party which was eventful to say the least. It is actually set in the jungle and not on the beach like the Full Moon. We arrived at about 12pm after having a couple of drinks at the resort bar and making our way there with two girls from Belgium and two guys from Guernsey. The bar surrounded the dance floor which you looked down on. There was lots of flourescent lights and paint - we both got a heart painted on our arm! After a few lethal buckets of alcohol we both ended up feeling pretty worse for wear - so unfortunately we dont have too many pictures!
The next day after a taxi, a ferry, a bus, another taxi, a minibus and yet again another taxi we arrived in Krabi town. There wasn't much going on here but we had just planned to stay the night before making our way to Ao Nang which is where we are now! We went on our first organised full day trip yesterday and it was amazing!! In the morning we went Kayaking in Ao Thalane which is kind of jungle like and saw lots of monkeys. We stopped off in a little bay for Pineapple and Water Melon which the tour guides had brought and even fed some to the monkeys - when they didnt decide to help themselves! After some scrummy lunch we went Elephant trekking and even though it poured it down all afternoon it didnt spoil it one bit. Managed to spend some time on the beach in the sunshine the next day with Hayley, Az, Matt, Jen, John, Penny and Dave -it has been nice having them here.
We booked a trip to Phi Phi on the Friday which was amazing- Maya beach where 'The Beach' was filmed is very beautiful although slightly spolied by all the tourists that visit. The sand was like flour under our feet!! So soft! It was a full day trip so we left our hotel quite early in the morning and returned late afternoon. We went by speed boat to Viking Cave, Monkey Bay, past Chicken Island, over to Phi Phi for lunch and then to Bamboo Island. We also did lots of snorkelling which was cool as the fish were amazing. At Viking Cave they fed the fish so that when we are in the water they surrounded us and nibbled at our legs - a little random but the fish were really pretty. Unfortunately Sarah missed out on the second out of four snorkelling opportunities due to sea sickness! She managed to enjoy the rest of the trip though. Spent Saturday on the beach again. On Sunday we fancied a bit of a change so we got a long tail boat over to Railey Beach which is just 15 minutes from Ao Nang beach. It is very beautiful. After some sunbathing we headed for some food and randomly bumped into some of Amandas friends from Glasgow Cat, Karen, Ashley and Claire. They ended up staying in our guesthouse in Ao Nang. Went to Changs for a drink with them after eating with H and the guys at a really nice Thai Restaurant. Sarah had Sweet and Sour Red Snapper which was delicious!!! And Amanda accidentally ate a chilli but was very very brave and didn't cry - turns out it was only an A5 rated chilli!! Enjoyed our last night with everyone in Krabi - said bye to H and the guys which was strange as they should have left before us but due to the trouble in Bangkok they couldn't get a flight out until Sunday 7th December!
