So we left Krabi for Kuala Lumpur happy that we'd booked the flight in advance since all the stranded tourists from Bangkok were trying to get home through Kuala Lumpur. Arrived at our hostel and realised it was in a pretty dodgy area of the city but the hostel itself more than made up for it! The girl's dorm was painted pink and had a free hairdryer and hair straighteners so we were happy! On our first full day we had a look around Chinatown after spending a long time working out how to get to Singapore! Then walked around the Central Market which was full of lovely stalls selling anything we wanted. For dinner we decided to go to an area recommended by the hostel but we ended up in a random restaurant with no menu and getting stared at by the locals! Managed to get a decent meal but the chillies were pretty hot!
On the second day we got up super early and popped over to the Petronas Towers to see if we could get tickets for the sky view tour.... our eagerness paid off and we got tickets for a tour later in the morning. To fill the time we went round the nearby shopping mall full of designer shops like Louis Vuitton, Tiffany's and Jimmy Choo, so all a little out of our price range! Seeing the city from the viewing platform was really cool and we were glad we got to do it. After that we went to a regular mall but didn't buy anything as we soon discovered you couldn't try anything on, a common sign was "Trying on? Consider it sold" then we got stuck there because it rained. To solve the problem we bought beautiful rain ponchos that made us and everybody else laugh alot! We went back to the Central Market in the rain to visit the fish spa where little fish nibble away all the dead skin on your feet - a very unusual pedicure! Had another early night as we had to get up early to catch the bus to Singapore which turned out to be cheaper and faster than the train, nothing like back home!
