So we left Ash's pad on Wednesday and cruised up to Orlando. When we arrived I was immediately excited at the bold, over the top, sights everywhere! We passed some parks on the way then turned onto International Drive. Its cars, people, diners, attractions galore! We are in the center of everything and it's fab.
We are staying at I-Drive Travelodge and it's such a bargain. It worked out at £10 each a night for 2 double beds, cable tv, fridge, microwave, tea/coffee maker, bathroom and free wifi! (I would definately recommend it to travelers and holiday goers) Our location is perfect because everything is within walking distance so it cuts cab fares and maximises exercise opportunities.
So far the weather has been insane. One minute is is unbearable heat, to the point where your skin feels on fire and then sudden storms! We have had some severe thunderstorms last night and this afternoon, it's been exciting to watch. We also got caught in the rain last night as we left books-a-million and we were literally soaked to the skin. Fun times.
Over the last few days we have explored our surrounding and found our haven...IHOP (International House of Pancakes). It serves all sorts of food from pancakes to salad and is open 24hour. Its a good place to chillax. We also discovered a mini theme park that is a bit of a rip off for a full ticket, but has the most amazing go kart track! It spirals and dips and its incredibly fun to race round, Olly and I discovered this when we had a go yesterday!
Really liking Orlando so far, its been a big fun injection and there's still Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure to come.
Will keep you updated. x
