18th June - Magic Kingdom
First things first, the shuttle had a timetable that was somewhat restricting. We could leave for DisneyWorld at 9am and return at 10.30pm, that's it. So we woke up at half five in morning naturally, since our body clock was set to Ireland time. We suited up and walked up to IHOP around the corner of the hotel. Was brilliant! I got blueberry lemonade pancakes with scrambled eggs and hash, Joey got blueberry almond pancakes. Massive, obviously it was eaten but damn it was ridiculous and we tried the coffee for the first time. American coffee, they know coffee right? No, no they don't. Tis mank.
So then it was 9am in the van to DisneyWorld. It took us to Epcot which seemed to be the epicentre of transporting to all the parks. We got through bag check and Upton the monorail, today's plan was Magic Kingdom. Actually we picked up our tickets in Epcot and I think the lady was laughing at my excitement when I could choose the colour of my magic band.
So magic kingdom was bright, hot and packed. Everything was so colourful and intense! The music was piping through the park and we took a few glorious selfies of ourselves and Cinderella's castle. I had previously fashioned my phone and selfie sticks in to an invention to prevent my phone smashing to the ground.
First ride was a lilo and stitch one. Shockingly it was the Alien ride that petrified me when I was here yeeears ago! They remade it into Stitch escaping a transport not Alien escaping. It was deadly, detail was amazing! Then Joey drive a race car around a track rail. Too intensely really since he bit his lip open, as if I'd smacked him.
We moved on to exploring fantasy land, behind the castle and looking through the princess-y shops. There was Rapunzel's tower and the detail was incredible. Joey and I complimented the bathroom themed around Tangled. You can't even pee without magic! After that stop we went into PhilharMagic which was a 3D show that blew our minds! It was Donald chasing after Mickey's conductors baton and the baton was falling through Disney movies. The 3D was so good we ducked and screamed. Walking out of that we got on the classic carousel, I think we enjoyed it more than some of the kids.
Splash Mountain! I was nervous I'll admit, I'm not mad about getting wet but it was coming up to 2 or 3 pm and the heat was intense so getting splashed was actually nice. Ooh before that we went over to Tom Sawyers Island right beside splash mountain. It was cute, you got on to a raft and then explored a little island.
Ice cream and then Thunder Railroad! A classic but of course! I really enjoyed the Haunted Mansion then, the little jokes everywhere while we waited in the queue was fascinating, Disney knows how to keep you entertained! Their so good at special effects it's creepy.
By then it was getting on in the afternoon. We got on Its a Small World to get off our feet really. That songs would rot your brain though. When we came out of that there was a show going on in front of the castle where something about Mickey and Minnie were fighting Malefacent. Too hot to really be standing there watching but it was good as much as we could bare. We went into Monsters Inc Laughter room then and it was hilarious, it was a 3D live show somehow of monsters talking to people in the audience. We enjoyed it way more then we thought! We were off to get the bus back to the hotel then but we missed it due to grumpy crying kids on the monorail. DisneyWorld shouldn't be a place for children.
We missed the bus but we were in Epcot so we walked in to find a place to eat. We were tired, it was dark now but we went into a Mexican restaurant right off the lake at the centre of Epcot. It was fancy and fireworks went off as we ate, almost as if Joey planned a beautiful firework display behind his head, halo-ing his head! I got a cocktail that was too spicy so Joey traded his lovely margharita.
We went off for the bus then at half ten, bus driver kept driving past our hotel, gosh she was a joy....
