22nd June
Epcot / Magic Kingdom
We started our Disneywold day at Epcot with Spaceship Earth the ride that's inside the big giant white ball. This was actually the second time we were on the ride but we wanted to start the day a little easy and listen to the creation of humanity spoken to us by Dame Judy Dench. It's very soothing really, that ride should be in Powerscourt spa.
We were being lazy that morning. We walked into yet another Starbucks and got some coffees and breakfast snack. We sat underneath an umbrella then and watched little brown birds dance on our table and around our chairs hoping we would drop some crumbs. Joey gave em some, I was hungry so I did not...
With that bit of energy boost we went beyond the big ball and fountain to the Nemo Aquarium. It was brilliant to get into this big giant air conditioned building. We went on a nice Nemo ride that brought us through some glittery coral reefs and little holograms of Nemo and the movie characters swam around. We were getting real relaxed by now. Off that ride were were in on open aquarium area. We watched four Dolphins underwater which was really captivating since I don't think I've ever really seen them swim under water. You mostly see them doing flips above water. We also took loads of pictures of a giant turtle as well swimming around enjoying his carefree life. Walking around that we got in line for a Q and A thing with Crush from the Nemo movie. Ok the wait for this said 20 mins which is fine but no it was not 20 mins. Maybe an hour later were in the theatre to see Crush and it was good but not an hour wait good. He was funny though and the kids asked stupid questions. It was similarly done like Laugh Floor in magic kingdom with a big screen and the character being able to move its mouth and expressions to the voice actor.
After all that lovely air conditioning we went into another big building labeled The Land. This is the building of "save the planet" theme. We went to a show called Circle of Life with Timon and Pumba learning about enviorment stuff. Leaving that we went on a little boat ride that brought us through the laboratories of research Disney do with plants and farming. It was actually interesting so I must be a full adult because kids hated it!
We had a fine lunch, best yet really and then went to Mission Space. It was a fast pass but it gave us the option of intense or basic. I was like intense clearly but as we were getting into the ride the warnings were crazy! It must have told us all these health issue warnings and "if your uncertain we strongly encourage you to return to basic" Joey was mad nervous and I was cool until about the 6th time they warned us and then I was shaking. So we got into a dark tiny cockpit of a space ship (a real NASA one not alien. We were pinned to the seat as the thing closed into us and then had a little personal screen each. It simulated a lift off into space but somehow they created a G force and my face felt pulled back and my head swam, it was like nothing I've felt before. We then got into space and the g force stopped so we felt weightless, it was insane! We flew around the moon, went into hypersleep and woke up to an astroid field. All in all there were sick bags in case it was a bit too much. We left the ride light headed and we definitely needed some time before our next ride. Honestly I was a tad quesy....
When we felt better we headed over to the Chevorlet test track. It was brilliant. First we had to design our own car depending on responsiveness, power, capability and stuff. Then we got into a car on the rollarcoaster and they made it like a big test for our car going thorugh slippy ice, sharp corners and speed. It was also a competition among other people's cars and I am happy to tell you our car was 1st and best in every category!
We celebrated our genius with giant donuts and then headed over to the Energy ride hosted on screen by Ellen DeGenerous and Bill Nye the science guy. Little boring and it lasted 40 mins but 'twas very relaxing.
Got the ferry over to Magic Kingdom to our dinner reservations in Be Our Guest, Beasts castle!! It was beautiful and so exclusive. They said it was a six months waiting list and we sat a a gorgeous table separated away from the main block of tables. We were in the ballroom of beauty and the beast. Everything was gilded and golden. There were three big chandlers on a painted ceiling. The food was incredible, Joey got a steak and our got salmon. We also got a bottle of wine and our desert was a cookie style thing with "the grey stuff", it was delicious. I loved every second. We got some good pictures before leaving.
We got the ferry back as the fireworks were going off above Cinderella's Castle, very magical.
Finally we fell into bed!
