Well.. what a week!! We left Koh Phangan on Tuesday. Clare had a nasty bite on her foot - it swelled up to the size of Russia!! James did the only thing he could think of to help - called her big foot all day! We took the ferry over to the mainland, we were then packed on a bus that took us to god knows where, were told to get off, then put on another bus and taken to this dodgy cafe! But all good, we would only be there 30 mins... Cut to 2hours later and we finally get picked up and taken to another bus which will take us to Krabi.. no wait, its full!! We were stuck with 3 girls and 2 other boys. The next bus didn't leave for another hour and a half! So we were pretty annoyed by this point! Anyway eventually we leave for Krabi Town. We turn up with nowhere to stay, but neither did the other people we were with.. luckily one of the boys kinda knew where to go. So we ended up in the Grand Tower Hotel - Not a tower, and not at all Grand! So we stayed there for 2 nights. Not a lot to do in Krabi town itself, so we decided to move down to the beach. We moved to Ao Nang, its probaly the most touristy place we have stayed. We where hoping to move to Phi Phi or one of the other beaches, but everywhere is pretty full. Instead to see the sites we took a boat trip around the Islands. We went to Maya Bay, where the film "The Beach" was filmed. It is the most gorgeous place in the world!! However full of tourists now, which is quite sad. We also got to do some snorkling - Couldn't get James out of the water! It was impressive - lots of fish and coral. The two old ladies we met from Melbourne assured us this was nothing compared to the great barrier reef - but we thought it was nice. The rest of the week has been resting and walking around. We got to see some wild monkeys near the beach which was cool. We also made some Thai friends in a weird Irish bar - they worked there and altho very nice were quite forward.. one of them walked in on James having a wee hehe!
So the tans are coming along nicely.. although we did see it rain in Thailand for the first time!! Only for 5mins tho! We are moving over to Phuket today.. less than a week left in Thailand then onto Austraila which we are both very excited about!
Hope you are all well, keep the messages coming!
Clare and James
