Hello from Perth
Since you can probably tell from the last entry....we've been quite busy! However, it must be said, we have been quite busy doing very, very little.First of all, I think me and Gillian need to round off Singapore. What an amazing place, the city at night is spectacular with all the lights of the skyline. The people are mostly friendly...and the best thing of all, no boys can approach you for the fear they will get arrested for harassment. The one thing I will say is that after 4 or 5 days, we ran out of things to do.It's a place you can go and visit once!
So with that said, we are now well and truly into Perth life.We are staying in an ok hostel in an area called Northbridge, only an half an hour walk from the city centre.Me and Gillian are both on the top bunks and these bunk beds are huge and have no ladders, so not only are we in agony trying to get into bed but the mattresses are that old we are not sleeping too great with the fear of falling out of them.Anyway...we spend most of our time out of the hostel and getting to know the layout of Perth. We have already been shopping a few times and been to a few of the pubs and clubs in the centre. Our local pub, "The Brisbane" even named a cocktail for us the very first day we arrived....Peach on the Beach (original, hehe)!
Our tour guide Kyle is doing us proud by looking out for us, making sure we're not lost and still alive. His parents are awesome....they took us to a very nice Chinese restaurant the second day we arrived and even on a sunset picnic on the beach just down from their house. That has to be one of the best nights of the trip so far and I hope there will be plenty more of those nights.Kyle also took us down to a place called Fremantle just down the coast (our version of Stonehaven but a little bit more lively). There were lots of markets and stalls to browse around. We are heading back to Fremantle this Wednesday night as they have a "haunted" prison and they do tours at night....just up our street.Yesterday we had a lazy day in the sun watching Kyle at his football match. It was intense to say the least as they needed to win to stay at the top....and yes they won thank goodness or there would have been no speaking to him lol!
I think that brings us up to date!Today, it's not looking to great outside weather wise so we are cueing up for the washing machine and dryer at the hostel and have no idea what this evening has in-store for us.We have Kyle's birthday night out to look forward to this Friday....cocktail theme and a stretch hummer taking us into the city! The following night we have been invited out to another birthday celebration of one of Kyle's friend....and apparently it's a karaoke night.A few drinks will need to be consumed before we have the courage to get up on stage.....maybe the whole contents of the bar!
I think that's us for now and hopefully we'll get more exciting news on the go after next weekend!
Miss you all loads
Claire and Gillian
