I know, I know...it has been too long since my last entry but there isn't really to much to update you on! That said as of tomorrow I will be in Asia and so before I make you jealous with my amazing adventures I thought I better catch you up on the events of the last couple weeks!
I cant believe that the last time I wrote was the premier of our third show 'I Got The Music!' I guess we have been very productive because we have since premiered 2 more shows, 'Ports Of Call' and 'Words and Music.' Oh what can I say about 'Ports of Call?' We learnt the show on the ship so the last two weeks have been either spent in the theatre or in the gym rehearsing. All I want to say is thank goodness that is over! The show is a full on dancer show! Its all about the different ports that you can visit on a Princess Cruise Ship. We do traditional national dances from Italy to Spain to Russia to Tahiti. The dances are all really cool but very difficult..especially because it is so far from anything I have ever done! All up there are about 10 different dances which means 10 different costume changes.....sooo full on! I hated the show to begin with but after performing it I really do enjoy it. The audience seems to really appreciates all the hard work that goes into the show so it makes it so worth it! 'Words and Music' on the other hand is a singer show so much easier for us dancers! We premiered it last night which means all of our shows are up and running...FINALLY!!! I really enjoy "Words and Music' because even though its not a huge dance show you are on stage for the most of it acting and pretending to sing. It is fun because for an hour people think I can sing...more fool them hey haha!
We have one more rehearsal today to learn the christmas show before our dance teacher leaves then we have finished! Wow! I honestly never thought rehearsals would end! Last night we had a party in celebration in one of the clubs on the ship. So much fun! It was great being able to celebrate what seems like such a massive accomplishment! With the end of rehearsals comes the time for appraisals. Eeek! I actually just came from my "interview." It wasn't too bad...there is certainly room for improvement but as Sharon said this was my first contract and now next time I will definitely know what to expect.
I am now having a ball on the ship! I am getting used to ship life slowly but surely. I certainly miss home but this is such an adventure! Tomorrow is the first stop to our 2 months in Asia. We are in Muroran, Japan and I am so excited....nervous but excited! Things like exchanging money is confusing me but ill give mom a call and see if she can explain things to me! Hopefully we can see some active volcanoes! Note to self...charge the camera!!
Cant wait to tell you all about it!! Promise I will keep in touch!!
All my love!!
xx
P.S Oh I forgot to tell you my funny story!!....
A couple weeks ago we had a rehearsal at 2pm in the gym for ports of call. The night before I went to bed but was woken up by my room mate coming in and out of the cabin. I checked the time and it said 2.00. I freaked out because I had over slept and was late for rehearsals...also was kinda mad at my room mate for not waking me up! I got dressed, grabbed my badges because I knew we would do lunch after and ran up to deck 15 to the gym (its a fair hike!). When I got there the doors to the gym were closed and no one was around. I turned around to see it was all dark out the window. I checked the time again....it was 2 in the morning!!!!!!!!!!!! Having no windows in the cabin I was confused with day and night! WHAT A LOOSER!!!!! I went back to my cabin and laughed at my self for a good 10 minutes and needless to say once I told the story to the cast they laughed at me too!!!
