Flight from Cairns to Sydney, 6am. Almost missed our flight!!!!! Arrive at the domestic flight terminal (5am) only to be told we needed to be at the international terminal and that we were the last people aloud on the flight. So, we had to run to the international terminal with about 7 bags between us!! Eventually got there, checked in and made our flight with seconds to spare!!
Arrived into Sydney at 9am. Started house hunting straight away and also sighned up to a few job agencies. Within 24 hours of being in Sydney, we were sorted with a flat and a job! (much more organised this time!!) The flat is lovely. Nice and moden, open plan kitchen and living area, with balcony. Also a Swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna & gym within the building; Bonus!! The flat is situated in Surrey Hills, close to the city and not far from the beaches (Bondi & Coogee). Surry Hills is a trendy area with some nice bars and restaurants. We both have jobs in the city. Clare is doing reception work for a events company. I am doing some admin work for Grove financial research and advisory. Its good money and good hours.
We have just booked tickets to go and see The Killers in concert on 10th November (in Sydney). That will be something to lok forward to.
Had a bank holiday here on Friday (so we have had a nice long weekend). The APEC Summit has been happening in the City. Its all be a bit chaotic, with lots of places closed to the public, transport disrupted and police on every street. Things should get back to normal next week.
