Got up at 5:00am - couldn't sleep. Was it the excitement of the train trip to Germany or the fact that we would have our own wheels for 3 months?I got a wee touch of sun yesterday - so a bit pink on the forehead - but I can't blame that for the early rise. Nevertheless I feel rested.

Heading off around 9:30am & expect to be in Bad Durrheim, Germany at about 1:30pm.

Picked up the car & arrived at Marto's (cousin) place at about 4:30pm.

the car is a Nissan with almost nil power to go up the hills & is a manual which makes driving even more chaotic as not only does John have to drive on the wrong side of the road but he also has to change gears using the wrong hand.

If we make out of Europe alive we will thank our lucky stars.
