Today's breakfast was yummy pancakes (no syrup). The morning boat ride that followed was for bird watching, but we didn't see too much. You can never see too much. After waking up to see birds at 5:30, we returned to the lodge to eat lunch and then to relax in the hammocks. Dad took a nice nap, no surprise, and I lost myself in a good book. From there we left to the jungle for a nice hike. We saw many bugs like spiders and beetles, but we also so beautiful butterflies and even an iguana! Larry was the one who found and caught it and I was fortunate to hold it because it was a young one. It was very exciting to experience drinking from a tree vine as well. Larry asked us if we were thirsty and then chopped the vine with his machete. The rest of the hike was fine, except when a small spider scared me half to death when it landed on my finger. Oh and that other time when I thought a twig was inside my boot pinching my skin. It wasn't a twig... Some kind of beetle thought I was tasty. We took a break to eat lunch after that. At 4 we were on our way again to see a village around Libertad (& also the Libertad village). It was nice to see many children outside playing soccer. Larry said that's all they play. There were also many dogs there. A pup followed us around once I had pet it. It was interesting to hear Larry talk to us about the village life too. :) After that, Larry tried to catch cayman but couldn't quite grab them. So yeah, it's been a long day.
