Breakfast was not anything out of the ordinary and we departed on the bus and headed to the Humble Administrator's Garden. Hmm. Well, make your own mind up. It was all very nice but I think this is the wrong end of the trip to be showing me gardens. Beer gardens would have been better received at this point! Anyway, we dutifully plodded through and I took a few photos which I think are quite nice. After that we managed to find a place that served Chinese food for lunch and then headed for Hangzhou! I am not sure if you have been following the geography here but Hangzhou is only about 250km from Suzhou, but the problems arose when we arrived at the small town of Hangzhou which is only about 7 million people. All of them appeared to be out on the street at once. Normally that wouldn't be a problem but they all appeared to want to be in the same place as us! Finally, we arrived at the night market at around 4:30pm. This was really great and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Dad bought a couple of odds and sods as usual, but all in all it was just a nice place to be!
Ultimately, we found our room at around 6:30pm and went back down to the dining room at 7pm for our dinner. It was fine, if you like vegetarian, but we are starting to yearn for a little more meat! Trips to butcher shops instead of cultural shows are starting to be contemplated! After dinner dad and I and Terry went for a walk to see what we could see. The short answer is not a lot! Interestingly though, we walked along a road past a massage parlour which advertised blind masseurs!!! Not really sure what the go is there and none of us was really game to volunteer to find out. We have spent vast amounts of time coming up with theories though! Eventually found a supermarket and bought a few supplies before heading back to the hotel and a couple of nightcaps with Barry and Sue and Mike and Anthea. Wandered up to bed and did a heap of blogging as usual until about midnight. I hope you lot appreciate what I am going through for you! This is a fact finding mission of mammoth proportions!
