Long long long coach ride to Hahei, but definitely worth it. 29degrees when we arrived at 4pm so lots of sunshine to soak up, factor 8 sun cream on, Chris wouldnt wear any higher even if he was sitting on the sun. Beautiful beach, sea a little too rough for me, was getting flung all over the place, took my place firmly on Chris's back out of harms way :-)
After 3 hours on the beach, the two of us were feeling a little hot so decided to go and shower and make tea. the students in us were out in full force as we strategically made beans on toast :-) you forget how yummy the simple things are and it all went down very well.
Day 2 of Hahei, a little bit of a grim day in the morning as the sun most definitely did not have his hat on and it was drizzling on and off. Thus, the two of us decided to grab a spade and head on down to Hot water beach. Its crazy, you dig a hole in the beach, wait for it to fill with water and sit in it, for some reason the water is stupidly hot. Chris got his dig on and was sweating all over the shop, meanwhile i took a seat by some rocks and decided to read my book (i would only have gotten in the way if i hadnt).
Cracking hole dug by my strapping man, but after 5 minutes or so of sitting in the warm the tide came in and took it away :-( sad times. butttt, at least chris is now hulk hogan.
Chris proved himself an excellent bug squisher at Hahei, ensuring our little cabin (the tiny room with just a bunk bed in it) was insect free. Much appreciated.
The two of us have been bitten lots by something, apparently mosquitoes, however some of the bites are so big i think we have been had by some kind of spaniel.
Next morning, midday bus back to Auckland (raining today) and looking forward to going for a nice meal with dan and claire this evening :-)
