Hello!
We are writing this from Melbourne, where we arrived at the end of our tour a couple of days ago. The tour was absolutely fantastic. We had a great group, made some good friends and saw some incredible sights. We visited Uluru, Kings Canyon, Kata Tujta, Coober Pedy, Adelaide, The Grampians, The Great Ocean Road and the 12 Apostles. We've got some awesome photos and we've put a few up already. Highlights of the trip have to be the night we spent in the outback all sleeping in our swags around the fire. A swag is a big canvas sleeping bag with a regular sleeping bag inside and they were surpisingly comfortable and warm. One of the guys in our group played guitar so we sang some cheesy songs around the campfire! Watching the sunset at Uluru was awesome, it really does look like it changes colour- from red to purple.
We did a couple of really good hikes and got up close and personal to kangaroos, koalas, emus, spiders and mice - hundreds of mice! We visited a kangaroo orphanage with a baby joey and it was soo cute!!
We spent a day wine tasting in Barossa Valley near Adelaide, visited the home of Jacobs Creek as well as 3 other wineries, and we have refined our taste for wine a little.
Melbourne is really nice, although it is strange to be in Autumn now. We have visited the Australian Centre of Moving Image and a modern art exhibition. A few of the people from our tour are still here as well so we've been spending time with them.
We leave on Wednesday for Singapore and then we have 5 weeks to get to Bangkok to fly home!
