Hello!
Just a quick one as we haven't done much recently, it was raining for maybe 2 weeks on and off so we did start to get a bit of cabin fever in our car but the sun has now come out again and we are trying to pick up the pace to get to Cairns on time.
We did catch the Royal wedding on a tv at a campsite, there were quite a few other people also there so it was good, although the Australians were criticising bits of it the day after so i had to turn the radio off!
We've been through Byron Bay, Brisbane, along Steve Irwin Way and are now in Rockhampton. Byron Bay was very busy as we turned up just as the Blues Fest music festival was kicking off! For the last couple of days we stayed in a place called Hervey Bay which was very pretty and we hired bikes and rode along the 14km track that goes right along the beach, that was fun. We have stopped at a few other places but I dont think their names will mean anything to you! We've seen some kangaroo's just like this one in grass area's by the road, inlcuding next to a cafe where we stopped for an ice-cream. No snakes or crocs yet.
The coast of Rockhampton is popular with Box Jellyfish which is one of the most deadliest creatures in the world - so we probably won't be going for a swim around here!
Hope everyone is well

Mum Just got your post card of Byron Bay- looks beautiful. Hope you managed to get a swim there. Cycling along the beach sounds great, I plan to try and do more cycling this summer- when we stop gardening every minute we can! Lots of love, Mum and Bill x
