Our fab adventure
Well guys, we are now on an Island called Koh Tao. It was an hour and a half on a catamaran. It was extremely fast and a bit choppy. Fi's belly didn't really agree with it but at least she kept everything down.
By the way we wrote a journal just before we left to go to this island but literally as we were gong to send it sumit happened and our internet connection broke. One could say we were quite cross and decided just to leave the computer place before anything got damaged. The Thais don't like to see people losing their temper. They see it as someone losing face. We have honestly not seen one Thai lose their temper yet. Anyhow, in the journal that we lost we were describing Hua Hin. That was the last stop before here and after Cha-am. It was really good and basically a bigger version of Cha-am. We went to a Thai Boxing match in Hua-Hin! It was unbelievable! There were we kids fighting aswell as adults and everyone was beating lumps outa eachother! This we thai girl was fighting a we boy! He was much bigger and was taunting her! In the end she knocked him out and the whole place was in stitches! There were 6 fights each one 5 rounds so was a good nights entertainment! The next day was the day to leave Hua-hin. We had no accomodation as we hadda check out at 12 so the rucksacks came everywhere with us for that day, round the streets, down to the beach, up to the train station for a shower , out to dinner, round the streets again and eventually to get the bus that would bring us to the catamaran at 12:30 that night. Was good fun though!
When we arrived here in Koh Tao it was 6 in the morning, we then found somewhere to stay and went exploring! Our 1st day here was roasting and our beach hut was literally right on the beach! Kewl! We even had a hammock to chill in and I took a good photo of Chris lying in it with a beer!lol! The third day here was not just as warm and a bit overcast so we decided to rent out a quad for the day. Everyone here goes round on scooters as taxis are so dear. The roads are really rugged so taximen ( workmen with a pickup truck and seats in the back) really do rip people off for getting from a-b but the part we are in is the most lively and we don't really need to go anywhere! Its only a 10 minute walk to the next town anyway. As we were saying, the quad, it was class. prob best fun yet. The whole island is literally a dirt track for speed freak tourists. Just as we hired out the quad the heavens opened. This just added to the sheer fun of it all. Covered in dirt from head to toe. We had it for three hours and made the most of it.
Some of the best restaurants in Koh Tao are located were we are staying - so we are eating like kings! Our average meal costs bout 7quid. 2 mains, dessert and 2drinks! so cheap like! It's really strange because you have to take your shoes off before you enter and shops or restaurants etc so outside the door there are flipflops on top of flip flop! Weird but keeps the sand outa the shops. Today we went to a boat trip around the island! We left at 8.30 and were back bout 5! It was amazing, not only did we get to see everything on the island we also got to snorkel on all the best bays here! There were piles of kewl fish and the island is renowned for divers! The coral is like something you couldn't even imagine! We got an underwater camera though so hopefully it develops well, although we won't be able to put them up on the photo albums for you's to see unfortunately. Tonight we had the best dinner ever! Even nicer than Vila Italia! It was decorated really well and was bunged all night!!Thats the update for now basically but we'l write again soon!!
