After heading along the coast a few miles we discovered a secluded beach called Bingin.
Surrounded by 50 foot cliffs you have to climb down hundreds of steps to the bottom. The waves were massive so Aussies were everywhere as usual.
Found a cheap homestay at the top of the cliffs and stayed there for 2 days.
By now we'd discovered the best and cheapest way to eat were in the Warungs.
These are little stalls or small restaurants that cook Balinese food for people - they are VERY CHEAP! Excellent food was available for less than a couple of quid each. In Bingin, the highlight was a whole 2kg Red Snapper fish BBQ with balinese sauces and rice....(mouth watering as I type this!). Chris also discovered Bintang - the local beer of Bali (mouth still watering!).
After our second night trapesing back up the cliff to our home stay we decieded to move to a beach side room, complete with balcony overlooking the sand, and built right into the cliffs. Painful as it was carrying our bags down the cliff (and then back up when we left!), it was totally worth it to fall asleep to the sound of the waves right outside.
Amazing sunsets and awesome beachside BBQs made this quiet beach somewhere we'll always remember.
All for less than a tenner each a day!
