Hey there, back again and in another place...
This time I decided to go somewhere in the Philippines, and I also decided to treat myself to a lovely resort and brought along my good friend Moi, someone who I am really going to miss when I have to leave Manila.
The trip for the weekend started early on the saturday morning where me and Moi met at the airport and had a healthy breakfast and wake up coffee before boarding our flight. When we arrived in Bohol we had a lovely van to transfer us and we were so amazed when we first saw Eskaya. It is on an Island next to Bohol, but connected by a bridge so you don't need to get any boats across and it was such an idyllic and luxurious location. Our villa was huge and had an outside bathroom (well covered) with a Jacuzzi bath!
We planned on having a relaxing sunbathing day on the saturday so got on our bikinis and hit the beach for the sunshine. Despite the weather forcasts of rain rain rain, it was hot an sunny for the whole weekend, prefect for me to top up my tan, yes tan, before going back to the UK. Oh and I have tan lines so although I may still look fairly white, its definately tan!
Anyway, the food was fantastic and this place, we stayed in Eskaya the whole day and had a nice evening meal with a young choir singing some traditional songs as well as Christmas music. On sunday we got up early and had our breakfast on one of the viewing decks, it was great and perfect to start the day. Firstly we went to see the smallest mammel or monkey (not sure which) in the world called the Tarsier, they are soo cute, huge eyes, but nocturnal so they were not very active when we were there. Next was the chocolate hills, named this because in the summer it looks like chocolate, however in "winter", (I put this in inverted commas because it was 32 degrees), the hills are green with all the trees and plants, so so beautiful. I LOVE Bohol!
Following this we stopped at a butterfly farm where I actually got to hold a butterfly! it was so cool, apparently they play dead as a mode of protection, so when the guide put it on my hand it didnt move, again, pictures are on FB. We had a nice buffet lunch on the Loboc river will accompanying music, was so relaxing. Finally we took a stop at a local church, before heading back to Eskaya to watch the sunset and have a nice romatic meal on the viewing deck.
Monday was another day planned for relaxing, however, myself and Moi being the active people we are were up by 6.30 to do some Yoga poses on the beach. We didnt end up doing them on the beach as there were caterpillars everyone, instead we did them by the pool. Ahh what a great start, followed by more great food and sunbathing. I really recommend Eskaya, its a lovely treat and it gets you away from Manila, well that is Bohol in general, fantastic weekend yet again. I am so lucky
Over and out until next weekend.... Xmas fun!
