Hey there everyone!
I know you have all been missing my Blog over the past couple of weeks and i am sorry its taken me so long! I couldn't stand getting bitten by the mosquitoes in the WIFI area outside so I had to wait until I got online, which clearly I now am! Happy days. I have now been here a whole 2 months, time flies when you are having fun hey!.
So this week I bring you news from the Taal Volcano and a great weekend with Jenn (it was actually 2 weeks ago). So Jenn has been travelling and I was lucky enough to have her for the weekend and the highlight of the time was the trip to Tagatay.
All began on a friday evening when I went to pick up Jenn from the airport, I was aware that traffic is bad on a friday but to say that is an understatement, it took me 2,5 hours to do a 15 minute journey. Prior to me leaving for the airport I got a last minute notice from a colleague that you can't actually go into the airport - security reasons. So when I got there I had a panic as I had not idea how Jenn would find me and I couldnt reach her on her mobile. I then noticed the flight hadn't landed so thought it would be a good idea to ask the attendant who was holding back the crowds. And apparently I was at the wrong airport! Yes there is more than one terminal :S. After paying an obscene amount (£4) to get a taxi to the other airport I was relieved to find I could actually go into this one and Jenn eventually found me! Phew.
So saturday was a hot sunny day, perfect for our trip to the Taal Volcano. We hired a car and driver who took us first to the best view in Tagatay and then we proceeded down to the lake. When finally agreeing a good price for a boat across the lake we endured a very wet ride over. Though in the heat we dried off rapidly. Luckily I had done my research on the walk to the Taal and knew it was an easy route up despite a number of guides advising of the "many ways" hee hee. Jenn you will appreciate it when I say that. The day was so hot there were bush fires en route. When we eventually made it to the top it was fantastic, my first volcano! Unfortunately we were not allowed down the crater to the lake as there has been some recent activity. YES you heard right, the volcano is still ACTIVE, infact its the smallest active volcano in the world, and Ive been there (she says proudly).
We had some nice food at Josephines before the trip back home where we ended the evening with cocktails! Sunday was the day of rest and relaxation involving shopping, manicures and massages, what a life hey!
So that was probably the most active thing I have done in the last few weeks. I have also been clubbing a few times and of course to the Kareoke! I love it :D. I also now have some personal training sessions so trying to get back into shape. If you check out the photos you can also see the flat I have moved into, I will also get a pic of the pool added at some point. We are getting into summer now so its going to get hot, and hows the tan going I hear you say, Well its not. haha. I have changed colour slightly but I think thats mostly my freckles coming out. :D
Anyways I will love you and leave you as you must be bored right now (thats if you managed to get through that essay). I would like to say I recommend visiting the philippines and doing some island hopping, it is a fantastic place with friendly people .
Over and out, until next time xxx
