Sallie here for day six and it started with a little sleep in and then returning the ATV to it's rightful owner. A big breakfast for the last time at Kapari, while looking out at a windy day with white capped waves everywhere.
The thought of a rough trip via ferry to Santorini was on our mind.
We went for a little walk to the old port and back and just hung around until it was time to catch the ferry.
Whilst waiting for the ferry we met another Australian couple from Redcliffes in Brisbane. They had just come from Dubai and Abu Dabi where they said it was great. They stayed in the Emeriates 7 star hotel for their wedding anniversary. They said that the building itself was 1.2km wide and didn't get to see it all because it was just to big. Apparently there are $1million getaways that you can buy and some cocktails cost $7,500US - of course have gold in the glass. Gold is everywhere apparently and everything is brand new. It all sounded pretty amazing.
We also ran into Ashish and Aliya again, our friends from the plane, which was good. We are all going on a tour tomorrow of the volcano, the hot springs, the mud baths and the Oia sunset. Should be good if the weather holds out - looking forward to it.
So after waiting for the ferry which was 40 minutes late and standing in some very gusty winds I thought I was going to be alright on the trip.
I was told a little tip which was to put a damp bit of napkin in one ear to help control the sea sickness - something to do with balance. So I did that and it did help the majority of the way but the rough seas were just too much! I gave in and along with a headache and having had no food the paper bag ended up being used. And no surprise it was being used by a lot of people.
Finally arrived at Santorini and it was amazing. Unbelievable cliff faces with all different colours greeted us. We looked across to see the town of Fira on top of the cliff. A lovely gentleman taking us to the hotel pointed out where we were staying - gob smacked by the thought of buildings being so on the edge we couldn't wait to see the view!
Got to the hotel and were blown away with the view. It is just amazing! We have a balcony that looks out over the volcano and the amazing sunset. The hotel has 3 pools all on different levels - how lucky are we, was all I was thinking!
Anyway off to bed as we have an early start and a big day ahead of us.
Signed
Chop and Salad!

Merlo We want more blogging. Loved the bit about the Bubble 'n Squeak taxi driver overtaking to cop car with its siren going. The welfare of the passengers doesn't sound like it's a priority. Still - probably better than what we've got back here.
