Tuesday;; Day 15! This morning my brothers friend Tom (who came down to see me in London and who is like a brother to me) came by to drop some jumpers and stuff that I'd left with him so I didn't have to lug them around London last week. He met Aunty Coral, and her husband (Veli) as we sat in the garden enjoying the morning sunshine with Coral's two (they originally belonged to the neighbours!) cats before Tom and I left to go fetch me a parcel from the post office and then head somewhere to have lunch. We went to a lovely restaurant called the Waterfront. The name makes it quite self-explanatory so the restaurant overlooks the river dock where all the narrowboats are lined up together in rows. The restaurant has a decking area out the front filled with people eating, drinking and enjoying the sunshine! I order a salmon fillet on a bed of asparagus, seasoned baby potatoes, diced tomatoes, onion etc and garnished with a light dressing and some sea salt (mouth watering!) Not a bad way to spend a couple of hours if you ask me! Tom mentions we should have invited his Dad as he's very recently retired and very excited about it but we didn't think so instead we head over to his parents house to say hello to his Dad and he seems very delighted to see me :) We catch up sitting at his new garden-setting outside but only for 15 minutes before I have to rush back to Coral's ready for some more family to pick me up!
My Uncle Tim (Mums brother) and Aunty Sharon come to pick me up and we head to their house in Ilkeston.
I can remember their house like the back of my hand but it feels weird now seeing it all from a much higher perspective! (last time I saw the house I would have been 9)... Tim and Sharon's youngest son, Stephen arrives with his wife Rachel and we enjoy a round of fish and chips from the local chippy! I did substitute my fish for tuna and salad that they had even bought in specially for me though as I have been reacting to some of the foods here (just been eating things I shouldn't!..as usual!)
We spend a lovely evening all together and by the time I need to leave, they don't want me to go! It definitely would have been nice to see them more but they invite me to stay when I am next in England.
They drive me back home and I crash out straight away yet again after another eventful day. I'm stoked that I'm getting to see so much of my family before I head to Spain in a week. Bring on tomorrow!
