The last two days in Paris have been really nice. We had already done lots of the big attractions, so we were able to do some more relaxed sightseeing.
Yesterday we started the day by going to sacre coeur in Montmartre. The plan was to walk through Montmartre from sacre coeur to Moulin rouge, but we got turned around and ended up at the very north edge of Paris. It was funny that we literary walked ourselves out if Paris!
We spent the afternoon at the Louvre. It is so big!! It was actually quite overwhelming, but nice to see so many famous pieces.
After the louvre, we met up with my friend from Guelph, Taylor, who is currently living in Paris. Taylor and I shared an office at my coop job, so it was nice to catch up!
Later that night, Shveta and I enjoyed a bottle of wine in front of the Eiffel Tower! The tower was lit up so nicely, it was a very nice night!!
We got home quite late, after walking the 7 km home, so we ended up sleeping in quite late this morning. We had a nice relaxing day walking around the Latin quarter. We visited a little Canadian bookshop, an unfinished church, palais Luxembourg, the pantheon and les arenes de lutèces. We finished the night off with escargot and crepes.
Overall a great two days!!! Tomorrow we're off to Versailles.. I'm very excited!!
