Well it's the 7th feb and am a little behind with this blog malarkey so will have to skim over the finer details but here goes....
San Pedro was our last stop in Chile before heading into Bolivia and starting our 4x4 Atacama desert crossing. We took it as an opportunity to take stock, have a relax and drink (obviously) and prepare for heading into the altitude of Bolivia. The night before crossing the border our guide Jared informed us of the news of his immediate dismissal (the nature of which could not be disclosed but apparently poor feedback from previous groups was suggested which if it was the case was a little harsh) which came as somewhat of a shock to the group as he had been doing a fairly decent job. After firing off a few emails of complaint to G adventures, as a parting gesture to Jared we had a good drink up and awoke the next morning for Francisco's Birthday breakfast a little jaded. It was at breakfast that Jareds replacement Solidad (a native Bolivian and one of the nicest persons you could wish to meet) was introduced to the group.
