Thank you all for your awesome birthday texts and messages!!! Had a pretty special 30th it must be said : ) Having a great time... Met the rest of the group on Wednesday evening and they are a real nice group and mix of people! Am sharing with a sound guy called Tom from Hastings. There's a couple from Ireland, 1 guy from Northern Ireland, a Swiss chap, 2 Aussie girls, a kiwi girl, 4 girls from London and our tour leader is Val from
Argentina so the lads are in the minority! 6 of us are staying on for the whole trip so the group will be changing for the different legs as will our tour leader so am sure the 6 of us troopers will all get to know each other rather well by the end of it! We left Rio yesterday morning and had a 3 hr journey to a port south of Rio and caught a boat to the beautiful island of Ilha Grande! Its an amazing place, no cars, lots of wildlife knocking about (thank god I had the rabbies jab otherwise might be a bit on edge) and has the feel of an Island for every taste - lots of bars, lots of activities and walks for the doing folk but on the flip side very peaceful and relaxing spots for those who want to chill! Unfortunately the weather has been a bit tropical but it didn't stop us from having a gut full of Caiprinha's (like a mojito) and having a good get to know you session last night - had happy birthday sang to me loads which was ace! Have spent the morning chilling/recovering and about to head off on a fishing trip with a few of the guys so hope to land a few whoppers!
