Day 2 in BA began at a leisurely pace after a rum and coke session til 3am with Tom, Lauren and Jo the night before. We made the Cementerio de la Recoleta our destination and took a few sights in on route before jumping on the budget tour (that's the wander about aimlessly trying to follow a map scribbled on the back if a fag packet) of the Cemetery in search of Eva Perons final resting place with unsurprisingly not much success. It was a fascinating place with some unbelievable mausalliums but my complete lack of knowledge of Argentinian political and historical figures meant the gravitas of some of its residents was sadly rather lost on me! After a couple hours of mouching, the midday sun became a little strong so we had to call off the search (agreeing to google image it and some how work it into the photo album back home) and found a fantastic cafe come restaurant Catalina had recommended the day before. She told me it hadn't changed from her childhood... it was brill! Motorsport themed with fabulous posters and memorabilia adorning the walls. We had a simple but tasty lunch before making our way back to the hotel to freshen up and get on our glad rags for the complete Tango experience Val had booked for us - there was no getting out of this one as sadly it was Val, Alice and Eddies last night before team wonderland started disbanding. We headed off full of excitement (girls) and trepidation (boys) and on arrival were chaperoned into the rather poorly air conditioned torture chamber/dance studio for our 1 hour beginners crash course in Tango. Well poor Cat got lumbered with Mr Unco-ordinated over here but managed to get through it with the majority of her toes intact - wish I could say the same for my dignity but if you were to press me for an honest opinion I might admit it was kinda fun ;) We then moved through into the restaurant/theatre and got stuck into a 3 course traditional meal and all you could drink wine (guess which part of the trip sealed the deal for me). Post dinner we were treated to the most stunning performance of Tango through the ages by some seriously talented guys and girls who were also joined by a comedy silver haired crooner who slinked and warbled his way around the room during the costume changes... very funny indeed as is most things after a large Quilmes and gut full of Malbec! The night did not end there but it did at 6am bathed in the morning sun... what happened in between would be pure guesswork. Needless to say the guys got a bloody good send off (I think) - missing you all!!!

Jane Ching What a joy for your mother to learn that you have been the recipient of at least one hours tuition in Argentinian Tango on an actual Argentinian dance floor!Well done to whichever fellow travellers managed to coerce Alex to do this! (Long may dancing rule over drinking)x
Eddie The boy needed no coercion!
