Bangkok
Hahahahha, well I went back to the crazy mad place that is Bangkok. I arrived here in about 12 hours from Koh Tao, using a combination of boat, mini bus, Chang beer, overnight bus, and another mini van! However we arrived alot earlier than stated, 3 in the morning! very painful! stupid Thai time, always tell you the wrong fluffing time in the adverts! especially painful when check in was not meant to be until atleast 10am! However luckily they let us check in early and for free! (free, thailand?!). Anywho, we first of all stayed in a place called Sawadee Welcome Inn, with sawadee meaning 'hello' in Thai. This was a ok little room, well by little i really mean tiny! Put it this way, you had to kick the matress to open the door so that you could get out of the room, and one person had to be on the bed for the other one to be able to fit around to go to the toilet/shower. However, I guess 8 quid a night for 2 with a free breakfast each, air con and a hot shower in Bangkok ain't bad at all! So long as you don't mind the shower breaking as soon as you put the shower gel on yourself, or the toilet that sometimes flushes and sometimes decides that it doesnt want to... or plucking rude staff, but thats the city for ya (and large swaves of tourist Thailand sadly)
Lol anyway, once we picked up my friend from Bangkok airport on the first day of arrival, we arranged to move out the room to somewhere nicer and cheaper for the rest of the 4 day stay in Bangkok. The place we ended up at for a few days was called the Merry V Guest House, with a fan room for 2 with shared shower costing 4 quid a night! an awesome place to visit if anyone reading this is in Bangkok soon, you will find it in lonely planet also, about 5 minute walk from Koh San Rd.
Anyway, whilst staying in Bangkok, we made awesome use of the lonely planet map, public buses, boats, and kamikaze tuk tuks. Using this we visited the J J Market, which apparently is the worlds second biggest market... I don't think there wrong! So we ended up there for quiet a while and I ended up buying a really awesome (and slightly ridiculous some would say) hat for 60p! proper tourist hat :p you will soon see many cool pictures of me and this hat :p We also went to
(oh joy...) the Siam Shopping Centre and what were parts of what Lonely Planet said was China Town... although I think they messed up the map again like they did in George Town. We also enjoyed soem evenings on Koh San Rd and some partying there as well.
An all around awesome trip to Bangkok. We almost got our friend Kelley to go to Patpong to watch Ping Pong, we had to put her out of her misery and explain exactly what this was, for those who are wandering, google it (if your over 18!) Don't worry we wernt actually going to go! honest!
Anyway, I will be back in Bangkok in April for the Thai New Year, so I want to try my hand at some Thai boxing and also to watch a few matches!
Catch ya later alligator! more blogs coming very shortly (and more to what i am actually doing now!)
Gazza!!!
