Hello Hello Shelly and Stacy!!
I'm so sorry that I wasn't able to see you post San Francisco... I truly felt fortunate having met both of you and had full intentions of contact before you left on your adventure.
The good news is that I have finally purchased a computer and internet service and Deena has kindly forwarded me your link. It is fair to say I've finally surrended to the cyber medium and brought it into my home.
That being said, I'm pleased with the investment because now I get to read your well written and interesting journals while viewing your unbelievable pictures. Keep them coming... with an Edmonton winter shortly rearing it's head, it's a nice way to somewhat live vicariously through your experience and buffer some of the winter undesirables and day to day "9 to 5" mundanes.
What an experience you will have... I admire your decision and find it inspirational. I always dream of such an idea, but never have the drive and courage to put a plan into action!
Keep us posted and I look forward to the updates - have a "pisco sours" for me!!!

HI GIRLS! So glad to hear from you. This is a great web site. Send lots of pictures. When I heard about the earthquake I wondered if you were in the area? When did Stacy hurt her foot? Hope she's feeling better. Rob and Cher are away in Van. But when they are here, the Beer flows. Thanks for finding great neighbours Stacy and Shelly. Have fun out there.
Love Harvey and Jaye

HEY GIRLS!!!
I am SO sorry I didn't get to say good-bye to the two of you!
I wish you two the best of luck and many happy and exciting adventures for you to tell us all about! Shelly, I hope your foot is much better now and that you're not having to walk funny anymore :D.
You'll definitely be missed here but I'm sure that being where you are is going to be alot more exciting than here...
Take care you two and can't wait to read more of what's happening in your world.
Much Love, dre

Wow! So glad you both are okay. Will need to learn more about the geography of Peru so this adventure of yours will result in all of us learning too. Thanks. I was wondering about Shelly's foot. So sorry to hear it is broken. The site is wonderful and we will check it often. Your house is just fine by the way, despite the huge party T & C had the other night. Still recovering. Kidding!!
Interesting about the living conditions. I think you'll find how much you can live without. Loved hearing about the woman who started the organization. I can totally relate to her heart. And just so anyone reading this knows, environmentally speaking it is recommended here also that we don't flush unless we do a #2. The saying is "if it's yellow then it's mellow, if it's brown, flush it down." Think of the water saved! For those of you who don't know me, I ran for the Green Party in the last federal election and have an ecologically friendly yard. Haven't used a sprinkler in two years and as S & S can attest, have a very lush front yard. Ooops, get off the soapbox Kate.
We will look forward to more updates.

Hola Stacy & Shelly,
We are so glad to hear from you - knew you would be ok but just good to actually hear it in your message. Love this site - enjoyed reading about your journey and what your living conditions are like. I am sure you will make your area feel homey and comfortable in no time - I guess you just learn to make do with much less than most of us have been used to. Now you know how spoiled we really are, eh??
We had a beautiful day today - cooler than it has been. Tomorrow to be nice too just in time for my birthday. We are going to the Old Country Buffet with Michael and maybe Darrell & Lynne. Can't celebrate too much at my age. Fun little faces.
Well off I go to do a few things and then get organized for tomorrow - I have to bring treats to work tomorrow. Will probably just stop at Bruegger's bagel shop on the way to work. Take care, love you.......Mom

Hi Cuties,
Great pics and letter writing. It hepls to hear from you like this because you don't feel so far away. As far as the sparse decor, just head over to IKEA and dress up your room. HA!HA! you can always weave your wn rugs and blankets and make your own candles. When in Peru-do like the locals. If anyone can make it homelike your the girls for the job.

Hey Ladies!
I'm SO glad you got in okay and Shelly darlin I hope your foot heals quickly; you crazy nut!! You're so fabulous for putting up pictures and messages already and writing home to let us know you're alright. I saw the news this morning and felt a little sick so I had a huge sigh of relief when I got your email!
