Sorry about the delay on the blog, been doing to much...of nothing :)
so we got into Sydney (ages ago!) and it was raining! we stood in the rain for ages waiting for our transport to coogee beach. when we got there we were shattered from our mission of a flight so we went to sleep for ages, then got up and ate...then went to sleep again. when we woke up we met lisa and clare, two irish girls staying in our room. we went out to the coggee beach hotel club with them and people from the hostel and had a dance and some drinks...until lisa got kicked out for loosing a shoe! we just really relaxed in coogee and we to the beach and stuff. it was a really nice hostel and the people were really cool. we were just there 3nights though before we went to stay at Helen's house (gem's dad's friend). it was really fun staying there and we finally met australians! everyone in coggee was irish!! Helen and the fam took us out to the blue mountains. it was SO cloudy though and we couldnt even see them! so we went to a local town for lunch then went back to see the mountains when it was clearer. we stayed at Helen's for a few nights and had an awesome Aussie barbie on the last night. charly discovered a new love for blue cheese!
after Helen's we went to Bondi beach. here we were staying at surfside hostel which was really nice and as we were there for 2 weeks in the end it became really homely and we got to know everyone really well. there was free surfboard hire too so we rinsed that. lisa and clare were staying there too. charly and evryone went out to a club called 'the gaff' on tuesday but gem had to stay in coz of her knee. one evening we went into the city with lisa and clare and went to circular quay to see the bridge and opera house. they looked really awseome lit up at night. there was also a fork lightnening storm behind the bridge which looked awesome. we spent most of our days in bondi just chilling at the hostel/beach. one day katie who we met in thailand picked us up and we went out to Manly for lunch. that was relly nice to catch up. also we met up with harri and her ausse friend sinead and went to darling harbour to the sydnwy wildlife world. that was a really fun day. saw our first kangaroos and koalas and charly was very proud as she touched her first snake! we also did the sydney harbour bridge climb on one of the days. that was amazing. it was really sunny so the view was awesome. we went up twoce as high as the opera house but it really didnt actually feel that high.
back in bondi there were 3 shark attacks in one week! but we still surfed and went bodyboarding...no shark bites yet! gemma did THE BEST barrell ride EVER! it made her life. fully deserved a belly bash! should have been on tv. charly missed it! also whilst in bondi we went to a bbq wioth some people who used to stay in the lodge and now have an appartment which was really good fun.
on one day we went on a MASSIVE walk with 6 guys from our hostel to go and do a cliff jump into the sea ...but turns out there were no cliffs where we got sent! most uncliffiest beach u have ever seen! so we didnt do that!
the last weekend in sydney was Mardi Gras, the huge gay pride festival. we went with harri and sinead and it was so much fun. there was a huge street party and parade through sydney and then we went to party in the gaff (usually a straight club, but that night every club was a gay club!!)
we loved bondi. got so homely that we were quite sad to leave! but we had to otherwise we would have never left!
for our last night we went to circular quay (got majorly lost and walked around for an hour and half!!) and then had fish and chips looking over the harbour.
sydney was sp much fun, but time to move on to the next place...
