so we left bondi beach and went to stay our last night in sydney city at base backbackers. for our last night we decided to go for a romantic stroll at the bridge and the opera house. although we got lost on the way from our hostel and it turned out to be a 2hour mission for food. but when we finally got there we got fish and chips and an ice cream so it was a happy ending.
then we went up to Surf camp. on the way we met Holly and Sabrina on the bus and got to know then on the bus and at surf camp. that night was like a party at surf camp which was fun. then we got up at like 6am to have our surf lesson! we are now both pro's obviously. then we continued on up the coast to byron bay where we got an apartment at the holiday village with holly and sabrina, our canadian other halves. we completely took over the apartment even though there was another room for 2 more people. when we got there we were forced to have weetbix and milk out of a saucepan using wooden spoons after we failed to find cutlery.
we did loads of activities in byron bay.. we hired surf boards to improve our ever growing skills and rented bikes to cycle around the area on. we also did kayaking with dolphins which was awesome. although charly got sea sick on the back of the kayak which wasnt so fun. then we got completely washed out on the way back in! but we were wearing helmets so it was all ok. we also did snorkling with giant sea turtles in shark infested waters! and we saw loads of tropical fish and turtles and more dolphins.
we also did horse riding along the beach. but gem got a s***ter of a horse which kept bolting and tried to rear her off! was funny for all watching but not so much for gem! and we also had a good BBQ that day.
gem also did a skydive at 14000ft which was insane.
we also had a really cool bonfire on the beach which everyone we'd made friends with at the hostel. and continuoesly played games of basketball 21 and we all got VERY competitive!
we became really good friends with holly and sabrina and it was super sad to say goodbye! we were really sad to leave byron after 2 weeks but we had to get moving cos we were running out of time! we had a really nice meal on the last night with the four of us and ended with a sundae with chocolate fudge!
