named 'baia formosa' (beautifel bay) by early portugesse explorers who wer probabily too awestruck to be more inventive. plettenburg bay is one of the garden routes best destinations. so thats the history of it now down to the important things US!!! hahahaha.
well first on the list for us was to go see the elephants after a dissapointing attempt at mossel bay the staff here organised it for us in no time at all. we got to the elephant sanctuary and walked trunk in hand with the elephants and then watched as they obeyed their trainers we were told however they do it on freewill and there has been many a time they have just refused to listen. we were suprised by the size of the elephants as they werent very big we expected them to be bigger but they were so cute and we wanted to bring them home. we also rode the elephants and while there charlotte saw a hugh grasshopper not joking the size of your hand!! the handler dismissed it with "its just a poisonous grasshopper" for the rest of the day we couldnt stop looking for them hahaha.
the same day we went to monkeyland (many of the monkeys resembled our brothers) where we went on a forest tour and we saw a gibbon that we felt so sorry for as it was the only one of its species it was trying to make friends with the other monkeys but it was a reject bless it awwwwwww.
the hostel we are staying at is called albergo for backpackers its really nice we are in a 10 bedded dorm but once again we are the only ones in the dorm which means theres more space for our mess. how did we ever think we were tidy honestly!!!!! on the first night we sat on the balcony an watched as the sun went down over the sea the veiws are amazing. after deciding to stay an extra night we spent the last day layin on the hammocks and baking in the sun.
weve been told tube n axe is a good place to go so we will probabily go there for the rugby.
